Add your Salesforce contacts when emailing a document through Octiv. When you create a document from the opportunity page in Salesforce, you can easily import the contact information for each contact on your launching object. This feature works on any object in Salesforce.

By default, Octiv will pull contact information from the Contact Roles related list. For example, the Opportunity, Account and Contract will pull from the Contact Roles related list, while a custom object that uses a lookup to an account will pull all the Account-level contacts. Contact your relationship manager if you do not see this feature in your account.

Follow these steps to add Salesforce contacts from the Contact Roles related list:

  1. Create a Document from your launching object
  2. Click Next Steps
  3. Under Step 2 in the menu, click Add People
  4. Click Add Salesforce Contacts (your contacts are pulled from the Opportunity you used to create the document)
  5. Click Send (your email makes its way to your contacts)

As an Octiv Administrator, you could configure the contact information to be pulled from either a related list on the launching object (any child record is configurable), or a related field. To accomplish this, follow these steps:

  1. From the Administration panel, select Integrations, then Salesforce
  2. Under Manage Features, expand the Contacts drop down menu and select your launching object
  3. From there, select the object from which you would like to pull contact information
  4. Use the drop down for First Name, Last Name, and Email address to select the source you wish to use to pull that data
  5. Create a Document from your launching object
  6. Click Next Steps
  7. Under Step 2 in the menu, click Add People
  8. Click Add Salesforce Contacts. Your contacts are pulled from the Opportunity you used to create the document
  9. Click Send. Your email makes its way to your contacts

Note: From each launching object, you can configure either 1 (one) field or 1 (one) related list from which to pull contacts.
