The Winter ’18 Release is currently being planned by the Octiv Product Management team.
Check back in January 2018 for more information.

Rollout Details

Monday, February 12, 2018:
All customers will receive product updates on Monday, February 12, 2018. There will be no downtime for the platform or documents during rollout. Please note: release dates are subject to change.

How and when updates become available.
Some features in the release affect all users immediately after the release goes live. Other features require direct action by an administrator before users can benefit from the new functionality. Please note: Customers will receive updates based on your current purchased plan.

Winter 2018's Release Notes

The following features are included in the release. Please click the links below for descriptions of each new enhancement and update.

Released - Fully released updates that are now generally available for applicable customers.

Allow PDF settings customizations at the page and section level

On Page and Section Properties, there's a new category for "PDF Settings" with 2 options: Standard Page and Cover Page from Theme, allowing users to apply these settings to individual pages and sections. NOTE: If this is set at the page-level, it trumps whatever settings are configured at the section or theme levels.

Allow configuration of multiple integrations of the same type (Salesforce, MS Dynamics)

Added support for setting up multiple integrations of the same type (Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics) but please note that only 1 integration can be active at a time.

Minor recipient experience improvements on mobile devices

The following changes were implemented to improve the mobile recipient user experience:

  1. No longer automatically open the Table of Contents on mobile devices and made it so that clicking on the document closes the Table of Contents.
  2. On mobile devices, moved the call to action buttons from the Table of Contents to the Actions menu.
  3. Also changed it so that if there is only one option in the Actions menu (ex. Accept), now show the button directly in the bar instead.
  4. Now hide the "Decline" button if the user doesn't have permission to accept/decline

Now display an icon on the Documents List to indicate if a document has any relationships. Click on the document to view relationships in the right side panel.

Revamped template versioning

Can now version a proposal template so you can view previous versions and compare changes between versions. Support creating a template version in a draft state and can publish/finalize. NOTE: Currently available for proposal templates only.

Allow metadata variables to be pulled from CRM integration

There's a new link icon on a document template when editing a metadata field that allows searching and selecting a CRM variable or document variable. Supported CRM integrations include Salesforce and MS Dynamics. NOTE: This feature is available for beta users only.

Option to set email template as editable or not (i.e. locked)

Added the option to set email template as editable or not. When the checkbox on the Email Templates > Edit is checked, the user is able to edit the template, subject, and message.

Support for IN() operator for arrays in logic builder

Now support the IN() operator in both the page logic and conditional content modals. Page/section syntax for IN() operator: opportunitylineitems.in?("Name", 'One','Two','Three'). Inline conditonal content syntax for IN() operator: OpportunityLineItems.Name IN ('One','Two','Three').

Better support of decimal-style list numbering in autogenerated tables

Now better support decimal-style list numbering for line item rows in automatically generated tables. Can how utilize a list variable as a data-source for data-repeat, as well as access a custom counter using the INDEX(customCounter) function.

PDF header/footer formatting improvements

Added formatting, such as line breaks, font formatting (bold, italics, etc.), and a symbols picker to the PDF headers and footers. Formatting applies to both Octiv content pages and embedded PDF pages. NOTE: This feature is available for beta users only.

Ability to customize the order of metadata attributes

Added the ability to customize the way that metadata attributes display in a drop-down list (multi-select, dropdown, or radio buttons). When editing a metadata attribute, simply click and drag the hamburger icon to re-order the attributes, and the attributes will display in drop-downs in the order you arrange them. NOTE: This feature is available for beta users only.

The following bugs have been fixed:

  • Fixed an issue where anchor tags all linked to the first tag regardless of the location or page (Released 8/22)
  • Fixed a few follow-up issues with the toolbar overflow "More" menu, such as navigation arrows overlapping the menu in Firefox and Internet Explorer 11 (Released 8/22)
  • Fixed an issue where users were unable to exit out of the document view in Internet Explorer 11 (Released 9/6)
  • Fixed an issue where the Next Steps panel is blank when first opening a document on mobile devices (Released 9/6)
  • Fixed an issue where the Table of Contents scrollbar was missing with persistent editor (Released 9/19)
  • Fixed an issue with presentations where table borders don't appear in the PDF download (Released 10/4)
  • Fixed an issue where page/section titles weren't displaying in the cover page margin (Released 10/4)
  • Fixed an issue with DocuSign where signatures were not displaying on the PDF until all signatures were in place
  • Fixed an issue with Quotehub where documents weren't being created if total net price > $100m (Released 10/18)
  • Fixed an issue where you had to refresh the page to populate cloud assets in a document (Released 10/18)
  • Fixed an issue where survey forms on mobile devices were the cursor would jump to different parts of the screen (Released 10/18)
  • Fixed an issue where Document Activity always showed the name of the person assigned the task even if he/she didn't complete the task (Released 11/1)
  • Fixed an issue where using navigation or keyboard arrows to change pages doesn't take you to the top on the new page (Released 11/15)
  • Fixed an issue where changes to a cloud asset's source file aren't reflected in a template (Released 11/15)
  • Fixed an issue where generating a document in Salesforce could incorrectly display a message saying the proposal was successfully published even if it hadn't been published yet
  • Fixed an issue with offline changes where content hidden by section logic was not hidden in the Word document (Released 11/15)
  • Fixed an issue where the Tasks widget on the Dashboard shows an empty box if there are no tasks (Released 11/15)
  • Fixed an issue where Accepted PDF attachments were no longer present on Document Acceptance notification emails (Released 12/6)
  • Fixed an issue where redlining a document offline and re-uploading into Octiv prematurely creates a new, misnumbrered version (Released 12/6)
  • Fixed an issue where removing a merged document from a template breaks the Formstack webhook (Released 12/6)
  • Fixed an issue where adding Salesforce custom contacts used the default mapping instead of the custom mapping specified in Salesforce Settings (Released 12/6)
