Octiv Appoints New Chief Executive
COO David Kerr Will Assume Top Role; Sapp Steps Down for Sabbatical
INDIANAPOLIS (Jan. 24, 2017) – Octiv, a leading provider of document workflow solutions, announced today that it has named David Kerr as its new chief executive officer.
Kerr, who served as the company’s chief operating officer for more than two years, assumes the role from co-founder Dustin Sapp, who has led the company’s growth since its founding seven years ago.

Sapp, a serial entrepreneur, co-founded Octiv under the name of TinderBox in 2010 along with Mike Fitzgerald and Kristian Andersen. During his tenure, Sapp led the company’s growth and product innovation from concept to serving over 350 businesses around the world. He most recently oversaw a round of $4.75 million in funding led by GE Ventures and was named Dynamic Business Leader of the Year by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce.

Kerr brings nearly two decades of software leadership to his new role as CEO. His executive stints include leadership roles at Groupon, Angie’s List and GHX. Kerr and Sapp have a long professional relationship, having first worked together in 2000 at Sapp-launched venture NoInk Communications.
