A system administrator can enable users to trigger Octiv to save a copy of an email directly to Salesforce by using BCC. An email is attached to the activity history list on the contact record and any opportunities that contact is on.

You need to set up this feature in Salesforce and Octiv.

Salesforce setup

Follow these steps to set up BCC email in Salesforce:

  1. Click Setup.
  2. Click My Email to Salesforce.
  3. Add the email address that is associated with your Octiv account in the box titled My Acceptable Email Addresses.
  4. Under My Email to Salesforce, copy the Email to Salesforce Address.
  5. Under Email Associations, be sure to check the button next to Automatically assign them to related salesforce.com records, and select Opportunities.
  6. Click Save.

Octiv setup

Follow these steps to set up BCC email in Octiv:

  1. Click on your avatar in the top right corner.
  2. From the dropdown menu, click User Profile.
  3. Click the Email tab.
  4. Paste the copied email address from Step 4 above into the field Log emails in Salesforce.
  5. Click Save.

After setup, you have the option to add BCC any time you email from Octiv. You can add a Salesforce or any outside email address to the BCC list.
